Well, I guess everything started with UT3:

Lots of us have been playing ut2004 for years, and we are all excited about the release of UT3. Unfortunately most of us ended up disappointed instead, leaving a wish for the ut2004 community to stay around as long as possible. This is where the idea of iTS began: Let's do whatever we can to keep this great game alive!

iTS ut2004 playground is a serverpark administrated, hosted and run by active players. Nothing commercial, no profit - and it will stay like this as long as "we're on the air". We know what a good gamesetup is, and we will constantly continue to improve our servers. Our only focus is on ut2004 and the community.

Our nordic servers are powered by 2x1Gbit Internet connections, with very good routing. This means that players from most locations should get low ping. Ok, if you're in the jungle of South-America on a 56kb modem it might be a different story.. but ye, most of you should be happy boys & gals ;)

Secondly we are running servers with our partner in The Netherlands to offer a central european location. All in all this setup should cover the main areas.

Servers on both locations are running on scaleable, professional & powerful hardware. This means that players will not be experiencing any serverside lag.

This is a community project, and servers are tweaked, optimized and configured according to what the majority wants.
